Walsall Football Club manager Dean Smith has today spoken of his desire to agree terms with the soon to be out-of-contract players, and has also hinted at the possibility of some fresh faces arriving this week...
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said: “I have been talking to a few of our players whose contracts were up and I'm hopeful to have a couple of them signed up this week. I have sat down with a number of targets as well and hopefully toward the end of this week we should have something done.”
Club captain Andy Butler, fellow defenders James Chambers, Ben Purkiss, and Andy Taylor, are all currently considering new deals, along with youth products Jake Heath and Kieron Morris.
