Walsall manager Dean Smith has today spoken about the negotiations between he and Saddlers skipper Andy Butler, who will be out-of-contract in the summer.
Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, Smith said; "We've told Andy how much he means to this club and we can't do any more now because the option to stay is in his favour.
"We've got a lot of respect at this football club for what he has done here but I've told Andy we would like to know his decision sooner rather than later.
"It's a big decision for him because he loves this club but he lives in Doncaster and has his family to think about.
"Living there and travelling down hasn't been a problem for him before but he's got a lot of options that he needs to weigh up."
