Walsall Football Club goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell has today spoken about the strength of the remaining players, and of his belief that with the right signings, the club can make the play-offs next season.
Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, O'Donnell said: "I think it's been forgotten a bit that we have a lot of good players under contract – we've still got a good core of players at the club.
"You never want to lose players who have done well for the club but we've got the likes of Paul Downing, Sam Mantom, James Baxendale, who are all key players still with us. I'm sure the gaffer will add where he feels necessary and we'll be looking to finish higher than we did last season.
"I was watching the play-off final the other day and I still believe we were comfortably in the top six teams in the league. I don't think there's any need to panic – the gaffer will fill the gaps and I'm confident in our ability to make the play-offs next season."
