Walsall Football Club midfielder James Baxendale has today discussed his experiences of being released at the end of a campaign and of his desire to work hard over the summer beak and come back stronger next season.
Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, Baxendale said: "I've been released twice – from the youth team and then released as a first year pro at Doncaster so I know what it's like not to have a club.
"So on a personal level I can prepare for next season because I know where I'm going to be, I can go away for the summer and work hard on things I feel I need to work on and come back raring to go for next season.
"We're all developing every day because there are a lot of new ideas that come into football and, as far as we can be, I think we are up there with things in the modern game.
"From a personal point of view, I will build myself for next season to come back stronger and be ready to go and hopefully we will have the nucleus of the squad sorted."
