Walsall Football Club could be in-line for a fairly large financial boost as former striker Troy Deeney is linked with a move to the Premier League.
According to Sky Sports, Watford striker Deeney is being tracked by Aston Villa, as the Birmingham side look to bolster their attack.
25-year-old Deeney, who was released by the Villa Park outfit at the age of 15, is regarded as one of the best strikers outside the Premier League having notched over 20 goals and several assists, two seasons in a row.
Troy made his Walsall debut during the 2006/07 season and went on to make 136 appearances for the Saddlers, scoring 27 goals,
Following a summer of speculation he joined Watford in August 2010 on a two-year contract, for a fee believed to be £250,000 rising up to £500,000 on appearances, this also included a sell-on fee believed to be in the region of 15%.
Villa are believed to be looking to secure Deeney for a fee of up to £8,000,000, but face competition from several other Premier League sides including, Newcastle United and Southampton.
