Walsall defender Matt Preston has joined Evo-Stik League Northern Premier Division outfit, Barwell, on a one-month loan deal.
If selected, 18-year-old Preston stands by to make his debut against AFC Fylde at the weekend.
He told Saddlers.co.uk; "I am looking forward to the experience," he said. "It's the chance for me to get games under my belt and show people what I can do. The important thing is that I will be involved with competitive football each week and with that comes new experiences that you can only get from playing in match situations.
"That said, I feel that I have really progressed since the summer. Obviously the Gaffer played in my position during his playing days and has been a massive help, so too has the likes of Dean Holden and Andy Butler who are always on hand with hints and tips. I can't fail to learn from experience like this.
"Obviously my target at Barwell is to play as often as I can and find a level of consistency in my performances. This is a great opportunity for me and one that I intend to grab with both hands to help everyone involved. I don't know too much about the level that I will be going into, but I do know that it will be competitive, something which will suit me."
