Walsall Football Club have today (Tuesday) released a statement regarding offensive messages sent between Saddlers supporters via Twitter.
The statement, released via Saddlers.co.uk, reads; "It has been brought to the attention of Walsall FC that over the past few days comments have been posted on Twitter between Saddlers' supporters that are rude, abusive and racist.
"Walsall FC does not condone this sort of behaviour and, as a result, we are working closely with West Midlands Police who are now investigating the matter."
Under section 1 of the Malicious Communications Act 1998 it is an offence to send an indecent, offensive or threatening letter, electronic communication or other article to another person.
