Walsall reserve goalkeeper Shane Lewis has been sent on loan until the end of the season, in order to gain some all-important first-team football.
19-year-old Lewis, who joined The Saddlers on a free transfer from West Bromwich Albion in the summer, has joined Skrill North side Stockport County, and is set to make his debut for the Hatters against Leamington on Saturday.
Shane spoke to Saddlers.co.uk about his delight to be getting some playing time under his belt; "The main thing is to get games under my belt," said Lewis. "This is a good opportunity for me to do that at a club with a good history who still get decent crowds. I'm looking forward to the challenge. I know that the level I will be playing at is very competitive and playing in it between now and the end of the season will stand me in good stead.
"I feel that I have really progressed since I have been here. Working with Neil Cutler has really pushed me on; the goalkeepers here are a close-knit group, we work hard in training and on the analysis side of the game, it's the full package and it has really helped us all.
"You can only improve in this kind of environment. Richard O'Donnell has done superbly well this season and I am pleased for him. From a personal point of view, I want to get as many games as I can under my belt and learn from the experience."
