Following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League One match between Notts County and Walsall, guest Cory Lees shares his Match Report;
Walsall kept their unbeaten run of 2014 going by outclassing Notts County on a wet and windy day in the East Midlands.
A first half hatrick by Febian Brandy made great viewing for the travelling fans although it was County who had the first real opportunity when Richard O'Donnell palmed a great 20yrd strike from Callum Mcgregor round the post.
After that Walsall took control of the game and deservedly went ahead on 24 minutes when some great build up play lead to Brandy rounding the keeper for his first goal.
It didn't take much longer for him to find the net twice more with a right footed strike on 33 minutes and a header just before the break.
H/T: Notts County 0 Walsall 3
The second half started how the first half ended and it took only 5 minutes for captain Andy Butler to nod in from a Sam Mantom free kick to make it 4-0. Walsall fans were delirious when top scorer Craig Westcarr calmly made it 5-0 with just 53 minutes on the clock.
County then pulled one back when Celtic loanee Callum McGregor scored a great 25yrd free kick, poor finishing and some great stops by the home keeper prevented Walsall from extending their lead.
As it stands it was a great day for the 747 travelling fans who left the ground to the chants of "sexy football" knowing we are back in the play offs and in great form
F/T: Notts County 1 (McGregor 61') Walsall 5 (Brandy 24', 33', 45+1', Butler 49', Westcarr 53')
Attendance: 5,701
Referee: Darren Sheldrake, Surrey.
