The loan agreement between Walsall Football Club and Chelsea, for winger Milan Lalkovic is due to expire within the next few hours.
A few weeks ago Saddlers manager Dean Smith confirmed negotiations were underway, saying "We are speaking with Chelsea at the moment. Nothing has been finalised yet but we are talking about what their thoughts are on him and where they want to go with him over the next six months."
He continued; "Speaking to Milan, I think he’d like to stay. We think there is certainly a lot more development in him for us but we have to make sure it’s right for both parties."
Lalkovic has also expressed his desire to stay with the club, he told Saddlers.co.uk; "I know that I can keep improving here. The Gaffer and Richard O'Kelly are really helping me to develop and I would like to stay longer."
Milan joined the Saddlers in July 2013 and made an instant impact by scoring in the 3-1 win over Tranmere Rovers on the opening day of the season.
