Walsall manager Dean Smith has confirmed the club is planning to offer new deals to well-performing players as-well-as first-team coach Richard O'Kelly, as the club continue it's drive to tie-down valuable members of the club.

Speaking to the Express and Star, Smith said; "We are still trying to get a few things done. There are a few players we are looking at who we feel have made big strides. We will be sitting down over the next week or two and talk about the players to see what we are going to do."

He continued; "People do notice players and you have to be mindful of protecting the best interests of Walsall. We want longevity here and that means longer contracts for players and keeping some togetherness at the club"

Both Sam Mantom and Andy Taylor are said to be high on the list of potential deals, and news of completed deals could begin to filter through within the next few weeks.
