Reports this evening suggest Championship side Middlesbrough are set to join Huddersfield Town and Nottingham Forest in the race for Walsall winger Jamie Paterson.
It is believed Boro recently missed out on Jacques Maghoma who opted for Sheffield Wednesday, which has prompted them to look at Paterson and are expected to submit a sizeable bid within the next 24 hours.
Nottingham Forest are already thought to have had a bid accepted for the talented winger but now face late competition form the North-East outfit, along with Huddersfield who have already had an initial bid rejected.
