Newly appointed Walsall first-team coach Richard O'Kelly has told saddlers.co.uk he's happy to be back and is keen to get back to work on the clubs long term plan.
He said, "It feels good to be back. I've built up an excellent working relationship with Dean Smith during my previous spells here and hopefully we can continue where we left off."
He continued, "It was a tough decision to leave in the first place, but Dean has a good understanding of people and was willing to welcome me back, so I am delighted to be part of it again. I want to play my part in helping us to continue to build upon the foundations that have been laid here. It's a long-term project and we're building all of the time."
Richard also spoke to Michael Beardmore of the Walsall Advertiser "Dean has a really good way about him, he understands the game tactically and he has excellent man management skills. He knows what he wants but he’s never afraid to listen to other people."
"What will happen in the future happens but he's only been in the job two-and-a-half years and right now he’s really focused on Walsall, and I'm really looking forward to working with him again."
O'Kelly also revealed that he had attended Walsall's home tie with Tranmere Rovers in March and was really impressed by the progress the squad had made.
