Former Saddlers striker Kyle Lightbourne has joined the Walsall coaching staff on a short-term basis.
44-year-old Lightbourne, made over 165 appearances for The Saddlers during his four years with the club, has took up a similar position over the last few seasons.
Kyle has been keen to join the set up at the club and was said to be close to agreeing a deal last season but he instead joined Bermudan side Robin Hood.
Although this is just a short-term placement, Kyle will hope a deal can now be agreed on an extended stay.
Reports in Bermuda suggest Kyle has agreed to become Dean Smith's new assistant, we however do not believe this to be the case at the moment, although Lightbourne is said to have applied for the position.
