Walsall manager Dean Smith hopes to solve the clubs goalkeeping crisis, once and for all.
The Saddlers began this season with then first choice David Grof between the sticks, however after a string of poor match performances and behind the scenes issues Grof was dropped in favour of a series of loan signings, beginning with Nottingham Forest prospect Karl Darlow, then switching to Wolves' Aaron McCarey, following the Republic of Ireland 'keepers recall The Saddlers then landed MK Dons' Ian McLoughlin, before moving back to McCarey, and finally signing Manchester United fourth choice 'keeper Sam Johnstone until the end of the season.
Smith has now made solving this issue his top summer priority, he told the Express & Star, “ I've got a list of about a dozen names so far. The goalkeeping situation has been a strange one this season. We have had a number of keepers come in and the have all done well.”
