On-loan goalkeeper Aaron McCarey is set to be recalled by parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers after their current first choice 'keeper Carl Ikeme damaged his hand during an argument with manager Dean Saunders, where Ikeme is said to have punched a tactics board.
21-year-old Monaghan born McCarey had been due to stay with The Saddlers for the remainder of the season but under the current deal Wolves can recall him after 28 days, which will fall on Thursday.
McCarey was set to be Walsall's first choice for the remainder of the season following the recent departures of Jimmy Walker and David Grof
Should McCarey be recalled, Walsall will be looking to sign a replacement before Saturday's trip to Hartlepool United.
