Walsall manager Dean Smith and Chief-Executive Stefan Gamble are planning to offer new contracts to several soon to be out-of-contract players in an attempt to avoid the end of season confusion that surrounded the club at the end of the previous campaign.
Will Grigg, Andy Taylor and club captain Andy Butler are amongst several players whose deals are due to expire at the end of June 2013.
Last summer saw a turnover of around eighteen players including, Player of the Year Mat Sadler, Manny Smith, Darryl Westlake, Olly Lancashire and Alex Nicholls, leading to a massive void in the squad.
With Dean Smith tied down until 2015 the club are hoping to tie down several of the squads higher valued players before the beginning of next year.
