Leyton Orient are proving to be a tough team to read this
season, failing to take any point from their first three games, but have sprung
into life since then, with wins over Swindon Town, Brentford and Yeovil Town, before a
draw against Crewe Alexandra saw them go into Saturdays game with Doncaster Rovers unbeaten in
4, scoring 7 and conceding just 3. However they struggled in that one, falling
to a 2-0 home defeat, and still seem to be lacking a goal scorer, with only
Brunt scoring more than one, and he is on 2 for the season. Nevertheless they
are not to be underestimated and can hurt teams who try to walk over them.
However, Walsall won’t fear anybody at this moment, after
another great win down in Dorset on Saturday we now sit Sixth in league 1 after
9 games, and our prospects of a successful season are looking more and more
realistic. Yet another goal for the league’s third top scorer George Bowerman
are finally answering the fans calls for a solid goal scorer (Let’s just hope
we hang onto this one in January!). Without trying to get ahead of ourselves,
all of the pieces required for a successful campaign seem to be falling into
place, and expect to see the same 11 start against Orient Tuesday.
In the past Walsall have struggled against the O’s on home
turf, winning just 15 of the 32 previous meetings. Last season however Walsall
did take the 3 points in this fixture on the opening day, memorable for Adam
Chambers 30 yard screamer on his debut. This time however he will not be
repeating that, as he and twin brother James remain out injured.
