Former Walsall striker Gary Birch has today been appointed as the new manager of local side Walsall Wood, following Harry Harris' decision to concentrate on his playing career.
35-year-old Birch, who stepped down as manager of Hednesford Town earlier in the day, will take over the club which recently suffered relegation from the Midland Football League Premier Division and will be tasked with achieving promotion over the course of the coming campaign.
Former Hereford, Hednesford Town, AFC Telford United and Chasetown defender Richard Teesdale has been appointed as Birch's assistant.
